Dog Sweaters and Jackets –How to Find the Right Buy at the Right Price
Dog sweaters and jackets are not the easiest pooch garments to buy, yet armed
with a little knowledge and determination, finding the right dog gear for a good
price is simple. Whether seeking dog winter sweaters and jackets, or summer
dog
coats, here are a few hints and tips which will help you get the right price at
the right time.
1) Buy in the off-season or post-holiday. If you’re seeking some
valentines day or Christmas dogwear, wait until the day has passed and then snatch-up
a great discounted offer. Especially with dog clothes, once a season or holiday
has passed, retailers tend to heavily slash prices as there’s not an extensive
network of outlet stores in which to send un-purchased dog gear for resale.
2) Buy in bulk. Many online retailers offer free shipping or a largely
discounted shipping rate when multiple items are purchased or a certain price
threshold is met. If you’re a budget-conscious shopper, make note of the items
you’d like, wait until they go on sale AND then order in bulk –you’ll pay way
less and your pooch will look ‘way’ cute.
3) Unless you are looking for a super-unique and niche article of dog clothing,
stick with the large online retailers who sell dog coats and jackets. Not only
do they have a wide variety of sizes, styles and fabrics, but given their sheer
size and buying power, they have the luxury to gather merchandise in bulk
which translates into further savings for the consumer.
4) If you are unsure of the company with which you’re about to make a purchase,
“google” them to see if people have favorable or unfavorable comments. Large
brands like petco.com and PetSmart are very reliable, but like mentioned in the last
point, if you’re seeking a more expensive, unique product for your pooch, it’s
always best to do some fact-finding about the company before you purchase.
5) When buying pooch products and dog accessories online read and re-read the product description,
material and style description. These are your guide-posts to determining if the
product has all the attributes you need.
6) In the same token, it’s also important to see a large picture of the item
you’re purchasing. If a small picture is the only image featured; don’t buy,
wait and email the company and request a large photo of the garment or accessory.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
7) Finally, consult a size chart. Just like human clothes tend to have different
fits and size specifications from store to store, the same is true with dog
clothes. Just because your pooch may be a size ‘small’ in one garment or brand,
doesn’t mean they’ll be that size at another store.
